OC Boys Top 25 Coaches Poll 1/9

Mater Dei (14-3): Zach Davidson scored 25 w/ 11 rebounds in a 66-52 win over JSerra and Freshman Luke Barnett hit 5 3’s at the Galen Center to lead the Monarchs with 21 in their win over St. Vincent-St. Mary.

Santa Margarita (18-3): Rockwell Reynolds and Cameron McNamee both had 18 in a win against OLU and they matched each other again w/ 15 each as the Eagles defeated JSerra.

Foothill (17-1): With wins over El Modena and Canyon, the Knights extended their winning streak to 12. Travis Paleo had 15 against Canyon while Carlo Billings had 12pts/9reb/6ast and Isaiah Bernard 10pts/5reb/5ast.

Pacifica Christian (13-7): Tanner “Sarge” Deal led the Tritons w/ 13 in a win over Orangewood Academy. EJ Spillman had 11pts/5ast/5reb, Alex Stewart had a double-double and Parker Strauss added 10 in their 54-53 win over OLU. 

Canyon (14-5): Sophomore Brandon Benjamin averaged 22.3ppg, 10rpg, and 4apg last week as the Comanches beat San Gabriel Academy and El Dorado while coming up short against Foothill.

Tesoro (17-3): After going 2-0 in Fresno this weekend, the Titans will travel to Capistrano Valley on Wednesday to open South Coast League Play. Carson Brown had 36pts/8reb in a 67-36 win over Sanger while Nathan Draper had 21pts/7reb/5ast in Tesoro’s 65-46 win over Central.

Crean Lutheran (11-5): Freshman Kaiden Bailey led the Saints w/ 22 in their 66-63 win over St. Francis on Saturday in the Jordan Brand Take Flight Challenge.  Freshman Braeden Davidson hit 5 3’s to finish w/ 15 and Kenneth Bailey added 10.

Edison (12-7): Closing out the game on a 14-2 run, the Chargers defeated Laguna Hills 53-45 on Friday. Edison opens Surf League play this week when they travel to Marina and Los Al.

Dana Hills (12-5): Shooting 54% from the field, 46% from 3 and 89% from the line, Sophomore Collin Haugh has hit 61 3’s while averaging a county leading 25.8ppg for the Dolphins. The Sophomore is currently ranked #13 in the state in scoring.

Troy (14-5): With wins over La Habra and Buena Park last week, the Warriors enter the Top 25 for the first time. Rayaan Khan is averaging 13.6ppg while Vander Ploog and Terry Ahn are at 11.9ppg.
